Stacy and I started our amazing vacation day Friday with a venture to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (thanks again to the parents for season passes!). The new attraction was quite a spectacle. The castle was massive, all the building and shacks seemed very authentic to the movies, and the snow on the roofs gave off a glistening sense off cool in the 90 degree sun (is that a sales pitch or what?! Ha!). It was well worth the wait to avoid the massive crowds and be able to look around.. The crowds were still thick, but manageable.

The new Harry Potter ride was pretty sweet. A combination of a whisking roller coaster (think ET meets Men in Black, but less intense than the Mummy) and all out action movie (like the Simpsons simulator). They really took the best of new technology to create something very special here. I’ll admit it got a little intense not knowing where the heck you were headed.. up, down, wind, water… it had it all.

We had our try at the Butter Beer (frozen and chilled). It immediately thrust us into a diabetic coma of splendor. Sweet, frothy, and thick.. It was delicious (a splash of vanilla vodka would be a nice option for the adults)

After hitting all our favorite rides (every line under 20 minutes, bonus!) we refueled at the Hard Rock Cafe where once again, the Van Halen table was taken..damn! A quick nap and shower, then it was off to get really sweaty at THE DEFTONES!

The Deftones. We got to the House of Blues an hour before doors, and the line wrapped around the entire facility… HUGE! We had a beer at the bar (out of the rain)…. Let me skip ahead two hours here and just say the Deftones were amazing. They played the hits, some rarities, and it was non-stop, heart pounding chaos!
